Even my wife said that this was a sign and I needed to get back to screenwriting. I opened up my laptop that same day and just finished my first new script in 2.5 years, a psychological thriller called, DIABOLUS. It’s great to be back.

It was from a close friend of my uncle who is a legendary sculptor named, Paul Moore. It was a bronze sculpture of my uncle writing with a muse whispering in his ear. In his note, Paul said, “I hope this inspires you to continue to write during these uncreative times.”

So I wrote him an “email”, and responded to myself with what I knew would have been his advice, “Never fucking quit”. The next day, a package arrived that weighed about 60 pounds.

What happened next was something that made me wonder if we are really living in a simulation. My late uncle (he passed in 2014) was my writing mentor and was always there for me when I went through a period of self doubt.
