It was wonderful to join @maya4rights.bsky.social, @booker.senate.gov, and interfaith leaders at Wednesday’s @civilrightsorg.bsky.social 75th Anniversary event. During divisive times, it’s so important to gather across lines of difference and be in solidarity.

We mourn Dr. Hazel N. Dukes, a champion of social justice in New York and nationwide, tireless civil rights advocate, and a dear friend to the Jewish people. My predecessor Rabbi Saperstein and I together served alongside Hazel for nearly 40 years on the NAACP board. May her memory be a blessing.

We join the people of Israel and millions more around the world in mourning the heartbreaking loss of Shiri, Ariel, & Kfir Bibas, who were brutally murdered by Hamas after they were kidnapped on October 7.
