Can't say tbh, but I don't think I'm arguing that we need better lies. I think it's worth considering that maybe the metrics we're using to measure the health of the "economy," and the way the dems interpret them, are going to get us any closer to a platform that actually helps people and wins.
January 4, 2025 at 1:13 AM
Oh I gotcha, I think I misread the first time. I guess I'm just not sold on the idea of the perception gap. I just think the Democrats have chosen to interpret data in such a way that leads them to ignore millions of desperate people. Or at least that's how their policy scans.

*broader
January 4, 2025 at 1:08 AM
Sure, but I suppose my thesis is that people primarily voted based on their own material conditions and not browser sentiments on "the economy"
January 4, 2025 at 1:07 AM
I don't think Facebook AI slop convinced people that they're having a harder time saving money than they used to.
January 4, 2025 at 1:06 AM
Totally with you on the crime comparison. I'm just suggesting that perhaps people's sentiments about the economy are more based on their material conditions plateauing or worsening under Biden than they are about right wing talking points.
January 4, 2025 at 1:05 AM
Or perhaps that the particular way the dems choose to interpret the health of the economy isn't as meaningful to people's lived realities as they'd like to believe they are.

Hey I honestly hope you're right. I truly do. Really tired of seeing fascists in office.
January 4, 2025 at 12:54 AM
You used "pwn" in 2025 lmao, please get a grip
January 4, 2025 at 12:53 AM
Yea the wording certainly wasn't ideal, but so it goes. People love to get mad. I more meant that the Democrats keep formulating a platform around their very specific interpretation of the data, and they keep losing to fascists. Seems like maybe they should rethink that.
January 4, 2025 at 12:52 AM
... yea man totally. Sure. Whatever you want
