Illiberally weaponizing the definitions of anti-Semitism in this way, against the backdrop of the crisis of real, rising anti-Semitism, (1) is nothing new; (2) does nothing to make Jews more safe;

Still, I and we scrambled to respond. We stated, as a Party, that we unequivocally condemn Anti-Semitism, which we do and always will do.

The pressure to do so was immense.

They wanted a response to the NC-based leader of DMFI who’d decided to go on record to effectively call me a self-hating Jew for refusing to intervene in our Party’s dem process & prevent the resolution from being considered (a power I neither have nor would exercise if I did).

They did so a day before our Party meeting, a Friday afternoon, and an hour (if not minutes) before their editorial staff went out-of-pocket for Shabbat observance, at the same time making it very clear that they intended to publish immediately.
