Beautiful view of my favorite part of Aotearoa!

MODIS Terra, September 18th, 2025 Can't believe that satellite is still taking such gorgeous pics for 26 years now! 😱 Gonna be so sad when she's retired.

TFW an AI hiring bot sends you a snapshot of your GitHub that says you’re in the top 1% of HTML engineers globally. My response “tell your algo to go home, it be drunk”. Should I have played along 🤔?

Now why would you ever consider including learners (students) in the change being proposed? 🫠 Omiting learners from the process tells me all I need to know. Luckily my kids are done with that system now.

Lovely snaps from 30 June and 5 Jul of Aotearoa ❤️

Yesterday I went and became a kiwi citizen with my whānau. Here is a beautiful picture of Aotearoa from space (MODIS Terra from Mar-30) to celebrate. Can't wait to lean into this new phase of life here.

📖 Check out OrgMycology's latest shared resource!

We've been doing a lot of work with academics who seek to deepen their collaborations with industry. Would love to hear feedback from both side here, did we hit the mark, what areas did we miss?

A few more landscapes now. Banks Peninsula, Golden Bay, Kapiti Coast are available. They make great gifts! Just reach out if there is another region of Aotearoa you'd love to see them make for you. designs.duckles.nz

A developer is taking a house and granny flat across the street from me, tearing it down and turing it into six 2BR town homes. Six homes seems a bit excessive, at least they'll all have double parking.

I love how having a 3D printer means you can go from idea to custom widget deployed in under 1-hour. A door-holder-opener for thosee times in summer when windows open + gusts of wind slams the doors around my house.

3D printing preview of one of the wider areas....What do you think? I still think the hillshade of the same area looks 🔥 comparatively
October 23, 2024 at 9:43 PM
1m data are available.... It doesn't make a very nice scene printed when zoomed out imo, the dunes are just not that high relative to the x/y extent to pop much in 3D printing land. If I zoom in quite a bit, can get a 3D model like 2nd image. Thoughts?

This fit the bill? (not a print yet, just a 3D preview)
October 23, 2024 at 3:18 AM
My boys started a 3D printing business, with their first product being a 3D printed map of the terrain around Ōtepoti. If you'd like to own or gift one of these, order at: designs.duckles.nz/products/ota...

Soon they'll have other areas such as Banks Peninsula, Golden Bay, Taranaki & Wellington.

TIL that the class rules for AC75s (the America's Cup class of yachts) stipulate the helm should be round. So when Team NZ went with a F1 style helm, to stick with the rules they added a piece of wire, in a "round" arc above and below. 😆 Problem solved.
