I grow grapes, I press grapes, I bottle wine. Winemaker & Viticulturist in Niagara 🇨🇦🍷🍇 Haudenosaunee (Mohawk Bay of Quinte)
My favourite American wine producer. I was on a waiting list for 10 years before I could get their wines delivered.

Those are crazy numbers.

Growers in Niagara still have their heads in the sand after 2 years of surplus.

Premium vineyards are forced to lower prices despite hand labour being 25% more expensive since COVID.

I feel that pressure. Of course whatever you pulled it out of had a 1cm clearance.

Nice and clean, is that after a filtration?

I need to know what wine goes with a green Sweetheart that says "Be Mine" is it Gruner or Chenin?

I'm happy BC has correctly targeted red states. Although it does complicate further cooperation with the struggling BC wine industry.

This is cost to produce vs price to sell. Inflation made the cost goods (equipment , glass, corks, etc) and labour skyrocketed. Supply glut means prices can't correct

If you are in Ontario the LCBO has some 2020's. Check the website to see if your local store has any Pinot Noir or Chardonnay in stock.

Both are very good wines from an excellent vintage at a good price.

That's a good question.

We are a new winery, everything 2021 or earlier was made virtually.

2022 represents the first wines that were grown and made by me on the property. The Chardonnay is releasing soon, I'd say wait for the 2022's to release (next 6 months)

I have 12 Varieties so having 12 topping tanks is expensive and wine gets tired sitting for too long in a small tank.

Yes, ideally but practical constraints usually mean you top with a similar wine eg. Big reds vs Pinot you would top with different wines but Syrah doesn't necessarily care if it's topped with Cab Sauv.
Eg #2 I top all my whites with Chenin Blanc because it is the most neutral grape I work with.

AaInteresting. It's the other way around at larger scale.

How did Gemini make Google Assistant worse?

This makes sense, I saw a 25% increase in labor costs from 2021 to 2024.

Imagine bottle prices matching that increase in production costs?

We aren't the only industry that has seen this trend. I feel like our economy is a straw house waiting for the big bad wolf.

It is the same here in Canada. Legitimately hurts my soul.

Wineries that can afford marketing are inherently unauthentic. IMO the more hands that are needed to grow, make and sell that wine the less authentic it gets.

What is your version of authentic marketing mean?
