The only way to force landlords of vacant structures to put these homes on the market is to establish an " Empty Homes Tax" or fee on the parcels to incentivize renovation. I proposed this when running for Cols mayor in 2023. It also included vacant commercial properties in our business corridors.
The city is moving forward with creating registries to track vacant and foreclosed residential properties to hold owners accountable for their upkeep.

D.J. Byrnes (The Rooster) filed a complaint yesterday with the Franklin County BOE alleging FCDP hand picked District 7 Cols City Council Candidate Tiara Ross is in violation of the Cols City Charter's residency requirement to run for the Council seat. Can't wait to hear her side of the story.

Uninformed critics wonder why people living in tents, cars or storefront doorways do not want to go to the shelter. And let’s not forget that Ginther, Hardin and City Council members all claim, “Housing is a human right.” But for who?
