Cheers all 🍷…..the perfect reward for a long & hot day’s toil in the garden. My fave all the way from the glorious town of Chateauneuf du Pape (although I acquired this particular bottle at Intermarché Taden 🤣

Very poignant this morning sitting where horror struck 85 years ago today. The day the horrors of war reached our little island. Just 2 days later the island was under German occupation. There is a memorial service at 6.30pm today at the White Rock 🧵

Decided to crack on in the garden early before the heat arrived as one of the jobs Mama wanted done is ‘quite’ tough. Never have I felt so broken before coffee & breakfast 🤣🤣

Hey #chog let me have your prediction of the no of votes needed to claim last place in the election. £10 to charity of your choice to enter. It’s just a bit of fun but would be lovely to get £1k to charities. Closest wins breakfast for 2 at Nutmeg £50 to charity of choice (£100 if exact)

A celebratory cidre to mark the end of the last ever LMDC high committee meeting, followed by a bimble through some of my favourite lanes in the glorious Castel parish. Gosh there’s some stunning property & one of many benefits of being on the bike……you get to have a good old nose

A very happy Liberation Day Guernsey 🇬🇬 (& Jersey (& Sark for tomorrow & Alderney for next week)). I hope all who wish to celebrate 80 years of freedom can. I’m one of the lucky ones who still has a living parent who frequently talks of the evacuation & life in the UK & the return home.

A fab, funny & entertaining early Saturday eve & after missing out on her November visit due to knee op being bought forward (apparently leaving hospital to go to st James was not an option 🤣🤣), I finally got my signed book. I love seeing Guernsey folks thriving in the world beyond our wee rock.

Anyway a very refreshing cider & incredibly tasty scallops & black pudding skewers later, I am in fact home, with said shopping put away.
Also ps 20 mins from town to Forest Stores not bad for an old bird, with a pretendy knee & a very naughty back currently Mais non? Journey back slightly longer 🤣🤣

Looking forward to reading this book after an Interesting @guernseylitfest talk today, I found it particularly interesting when he used the ‘Boris bikes’ as an example of judgement. Has anyone used these, oh yes I said & then we heard about the judgement required……

Not put any photos of this fella for a while, still alive & well & limping around. Here he is chatting away to me whilst enjoying supper in the glow of the setting sun.
