Weak men cannot compromise. Weak men cannot build consensus. Weak men think that leadership means force. Weak men build nothing that lasts.

More than half of ACA Marketplace enrollees last year lived in congressional districts won by Republicans in 2024, and three-quarters are in states won by President Trump.

See how the loss of enhanced premium subsidies next year would affect them:
Congressional District Interactive Map: How Much Will ACA Premium Payments Rise if Enhanced Subsidies Expire? | KFF
This analysis and interactive map illustrate how much more enrollees in Affordable Care Act (ACA) Marketplace plans would pay in premiums at the congressional district level if the enhanced subsidies were to expire in 2026 as under current law. The tool presents scenarios for an older couple who would lose subsidy eligibility due to their income level and for a single person with a $31,000 income. It also presents net average premium payment increases in each district in states that use Healthcare.gov.

Walked a bit today outside of my neighborhood. If it took an hour for us to walk that, perhaps I could justify a long lunch once a week. Need more nature time.

Reading Parable of the Talents now by Octavia E Butler. Found this passage relevant to our times. Actually this entire book is relevant to our dystopian reality. #booksky #booktok

My company’s “lifestyle spending account” would cover $500 annually for me to buy/listen/read books.

Or could use it for concert tickets, pet apparel, gardening supplies, gym membership, park admission, cooking classes, etc

It’s a lot of money but it doesn’t go far 🫣 wwyd🤣

Deleted the fb and messenger apps but really struggling to delete the actual accounts. So many community groups and small businesses use it. This will have to do until I can build my support system and social network up.

Dinner time conversations with the kids are the best.

Tonight my 1st grader said he thinks there should be no president and that we should “be able to just live in harmony.”

After seeing my shocked expression he just shrugged shoulders and said “what? it’s from avatar” (airbender)

A fb group for fanfic binding just had a *heated* post about the potential banning of fanfic. The folks bringing their receipts and getting passionate are on 🔥 today. They weren’t even rude about it. Perfection.
