Think of it like this, imagine you have a college, this college teaches a specific set of classes. Then one day a bunch of professors from that college leave and make a new school. They will refer to the curriculum from the other school as "old."
By itself there's nothing inherently wrong with that.

Personally I think all religion is immoral, and Christianity moreso than most, but from a cultural perspective there's nothing wrong with a religion that considers a testament that should no longer be followed "an old testament."

This doesn't really answer my question though.

Christians hold the belief that what they call the old testament are the things that people believed in the period of time of what they call the new testament.

There's nothing wrong with a religion changing into a whole new one and acknowledging it

So should Christians just disregard it despite it being a necessary context for the current testament? And if not how should they explain that the works contained are not their beliefs any longer?
