Sentimental Value is easily one of the best things I’ve seen all year. Renate Reinsve continues to be astounding in everything she does.
Marty Supreme has soooo much energy and was even more madcap than I was expecting. A ton of fun.
In between I went for a hike with my pup!

Sentimental Value is easily one of the best things I’ve seen all year. Renate Reinsve continues to be astounding in everything she does.

Die My Love - Caught a late showing earlier tonight. Wanted to see it before it left theatres. So glad I did. One of my favorites of the year. A spiritual successor to mother! in so many weird ways. (Break that sink, Jennifer!) Lawrence is tremendous. Pattinson great as usual.

Predator: Badlands - Finally got around to seeing this earlier this afternoon. The best of Trachtenberg’s Predator films, and probably the best Predator since the original. It’s impossible not to love Elle Fanning.

Keeper - Saw this last night. Very different from what the trailers had me thinking it would be. In the first act I thought that was a bad thing. By the final act I was completely on board. Maslany crushes this. Would pair well with Von Trier’s Antichrist.

Roofman - Thankfully less of a comedy than the trailers made it out to be. Fit well in Cianfrance’s ouvre; Tatum does a great job of a man reckoning with his shortcomings as a man and a father.

Jason X - Did a weird double feature and saw this right after Glass Onion. Fun to see with a crowd. I feel like I’m in the minority but this is one of my favorite Friday the 13 movies.

Glass Onion - Saw this in theatres the day after catching a press screening of Wake Up Dead Man. Cements it as my least favorite of three incredible movies we don’t deserve to even have. Long live Benoit Blanc! Keep ‘em coming, Rian & Daniel.

Wake Up Dead Man - The new Benoit Blanc outing rivals the original Knives Out in quality. A caper holding a magnifying glass up to the blending of identities of religious leaders and influencers, and the bankrupt morality that comes from that. Absolutely loved this.

Christy - Another biopic that snuck up on me and blew me away. Sweeney’s best work I’ve seen. Proof positive she can act outside of contemporary teen/young woman roles. Plus, Christy Salters’s story is incredible.

Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere - Knew this got a lukewarm response so was expecting a by-the-numbers biopic but I loved this raw, emotional exploration the artistic process takes in facing emotional trauma.

Bugonia - Yorgos gonna Yorgos. Stone is great in this, Plemons is GREAT in this. A lot of fun.

Saw Richard Linklater’s latest, Blue Moon, yesterday. Absolutely loved it. Ethan Hawke gives an amazing performance that takes up nearly every moment of screen time. Probably my favorite of the year besides One Battle After Another.
