Jumper update- probably 10-15 hours in and it’s going so well! My stitches and tension are way more uniform than first jumper already, and there’s only one weird hole so far 🥳

I finished Starve Acre by Andrew Michael Hurley the other day and it was brilliant!
An evocative, creeping folk horror about loss and grief. This is gently paced and more focused on the atmosphere of slow dread than a tight plot. It ended full of mystery and I can’t stop thinking about it.

It’s about a couple who move to their family home in the Yorkshire countryside, and not long afterward, their son dies. They handle their grief in different ways- the mother withdraws and seeks solace in a seance with interesting consequences, and the father looks for meaning in the history of their property, and the strange things he uncovers.

Scarlet elf cup fungus on a lil winter walk the other day! It has super red spores meaning you can use it as a natural blush if you want- seems I can’t add the video of me doing so, so here’s a photo of me and my mushroom blush, haha

Scarlet elf cup fungus! They are bright orange/red, and the visible part is hollow and cup shaped. They fruit on dead wood, like this one- so are usually easy to find in the winter on the ground amongst moss. Silly photo of me smiling, with rosy cheeks from the elf cups! Also featuring my first knit project- the #balabonnet by Simstrikk (although it being my first, I’m not sure how well I followed the pattern and mine came out a bit different)
