My point is that solar farms would need to be spread out for security. But, continuing the topic. To be utility sized, a solar farm is typically 3.6 km on a side and should be within 8 km of a substation to be economically feasible. That consideration yields a $1M per MW price tag currently.

Rikki here, hi Kiki. My human spends lots of time cleaning our boxes. She has a doctor's rolling stool to go box to box. Pretty entertaining too. We take turns sitting on the stool when she's not looking. Then she sprays a disinfectant on it. She says our paw prints give us away. Can't win.

One plant only would be a national security risk. Multiple sites with associated battery storage to make use of as much of the existing grid as possible plus rooftop panels would harness the solar energy and make it harder to attack. Many advancements are possible with your head out out of the sand.
