That may be true, but arresting them is not an appropriate response to a civil offense. Plus it’s fiscally irresponsible.

Yeah that’s just blatantly false. Being in the U.S. without papers is a civil offense. Crossing the border illegally is a crime, but since the majority of undocumented immigrants came here legally, on planes, and overstayed their visas, your statement isn’t true. But you probably don’t care.

It’s a crime to cross the border illegally. But it’s a civil offense to be in the country without documentation. More than 65% of immigrants in the U.S. without documentation flew here on planes, with visas, and overstayed their visas. That’s a civil offense. Not a crime that deserves arrest.

While crossing the border illegally is a criminal offense, simply BEING in the country without documentation is a CIVIL one.

And some of us do things even if they’re painful. I love CrossFit and lifting weights. Does it hurt? Yep. But so does doing everything else. I’m still going to do the things I love. Doesn’t mean I’m not disabled. Just means I’m resilient as fuck.
