TODAY is my little Pomeranian BUG's 15th birthday!! His twin ALEX died last month and tho we still grieve for him we celebrate the remarkable and mischievous life of my beloved BUGSTER who shares my bed every night. Thinking of having him cloned soon as I can't bear the thought of losing him...HBD!!

Long over-due congrats to #TOMCRUISE and #DOLLYPARTON who should have both WON their OSCARS decades ago.He for "Born On The 4th of July" (Best Actor) and she for "9to5" (Best Song). Now give one to #GLENNCLOSE for crying out loud before she croaks already!! I would give her MINE but I only have one.

I was very lucky to have a Nona with a beautiful, seaside house in Palermo high up on a cliff with a HUGE kitchen where I spent countless boyhood hours learning as much about great Italian cooking as i could. Making Ckicken Parmigiana tonight in fact.

Been watching old movies starring #DIANEKEATON. Half-way thru what must be her longest film ever made: #REDS. This was her #DOCTORZHIVAGO and won her paramour #WARRENBEATTY his only OSCAR as Best Director. Watched the funny and erudite #ANNIEHALL on Monday. She won her only OSCAR for that gem. RIP

28 YEARS ago today (also a Saturday) was the last full day of my mother's life. Signing her DNR that night after she spent the last FIVE WEEKS of her life suffering in the hospital was the hardest thing I've ever done. She smoked for over 50 YEARS dying from COPD and emphysema. RIP #QUITSMOKING
