Oh wow. They definitely take about 6 weeks here as well to fix or get a tune up on a machine. There are not many people who fix sewing machines anymore.

Yes! And they give classes to teach you how to use the machine no matter how old it is. They are really kind. I love my Janome.

I have an old Janome and I love it. It is very simple to use and really holds the fabric. We also have a Janome dealer here and they are are so easy to work with and always available to help.
