I like making bread, geohashing, running and riding bikes, looking at birds, and I've just finished a linguistics PhD.
It is rather an odd little verb. Don't you dare omit the subject in a negative imperative for example.

When it sounds fine to you, it's the object in a relative clause, "Any questions (that) you want ___ answered"
If you put it in a main clause, you get "you want these questions answered". This is different from having the questions as subject, as in "these questions want answered"

I was so excited when I spotted (ha!) one of these for the first time earlier this year. Seen them a few times now, and it's a delight every time

Very similar but I think 'smarter' has a marginally shorter vowel for me (AusE - Melbourne)

In the DECTE corpus (Tyneside English) I found both "you get taken the piss out of" and "I get the piss taken out of us" where "us" is 1sg.
