Much of that is hyperbole, but: China is a dictatorship that is accountable to no one and wants to crush America. There is no such thing as journalism in China. There is no truth except Pooh’s truth. No free speech. No due process. People disappear in China for the slightest critique. Not great.

TikTok may shut down here because, even if Trump said his DOJ wouldn't enforce the law, the penalties are INSANELY steep. It would easily bankrupt TikTok if Trump changed his mind, and it's legally unclear whether TikTok could argue that "Trump said it was okay" for previous conduct.

It takes the DOJ to prosecute TikTok for not following the law so that it can face any repercussions. Biden is leaving it to Trump's DOJ. Makes sense given its 1 day
