Any U.S. intervention in Venezuela would be an evil act of aggression. Washington’s long and shameful history in Latin America is defined by operations carried out for the benefit of U.S. business interests, repeatedly producing bloodshed, devastation, and right-wing dictatorships.

Major U.S. outlets have long served as manufacturers of consent for military or covert action in service of U.S. empire, and it remains a tragedy how uncritical many readers are about this role.
