Any U.S. intervention in Venezuela would be an evil act of aggression. Washington’s long and shameful history in Latin America is defined by operations carried out for the benefit of U.S. business interests, repeatedly producing bloodshed, devastation, and right-wing dictatorships.

Put simply: the average elite under Louis XVI held about 0.1% of national wealth. Each of Silicon Valley’s 9 billionaire households holds nearly 8% of the region’s wealth.
Modern tech plutocracy isn’t just unequal—it’s more top-heavy than pre-revolutionary aristocracy.

By contrast, under the Ancien Régime in France—a society built on noble birth and divine right—about 2% of the population (clergy and nobility) controlled 40–55% of national wealth, mostly land. But that elite included hundreds of thousands: dukes, bishops, provincial nobles.
