If there are some handy power pins exposed someplace a little extra usbc connections hidden on the base might work too. It's just a real shame right now that it looks so slick then so goofy with the connection where it is

Does it look like there's any way to hack in a usb connector somewhere other than jabbed into the side? I was very tempted by it, but the "just throw it on the side" connection feels poorly thought out and spoiled the slick look ☹️
