Anti-American could just mean you didn't like the way certain things are done, but it doesn't mean you oppose the country in its entirety. You're just anti-that thing, not anti-American.

Yes she was given a break that many others might not have got, but I like these stories of successful people who took unusual paths to end up in their careers.
