Last night's Standstill Supermoon (Cold Moon) as seen from SE Michigan. It was spectacular...

(think more like Michael Crichton's Airframe than anything written by Tom Clancy). This is a book I will certainly be returning to repeatedly especially as our AI matures.

Late in the evening during autumn in the north. A quiet room, a good book, and a cup of coffee is all I need.

To see the horizon aflame with the rising sun, reds, yellows, and blues all blending into art that Bob Ross could only have dreamt of capturing. From my porch I can see Venus (bottom) the crescent Moon, and Jupiter (top) as well as the sun rising. What a great time of year

Seriously, Mr. Buck, I tip my hat to you. I cannot wait to finish it. If you like Sci-Fi and are at all interested in the plight of AI you should check out this book! (a.co/d/0FeNVdj)

It might be time to add an Original XL to the arsenal and keep the Go in my travel coffee box. It really does make GOOD coffee though.

I just finished reading Bounty Inc. by @adamholcombe.bountyink.com. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. It's great sci-fi with a sense of humor that reminds me of Douglas Adams with a side of P.G. Wodehouse. The humor is just enough to lighten the story without making it a comedy.

As an added bonus she included an autographed copy of The Torus Run by Harry Buck along with bookmarks and photos. This jumped right to the top of my TBR and I am surprised I had never seen it before because it seems like a story I would really like.

She also, to my amazement, included a first draft of a prequel story that will be included in Volume 2. Which, while I can't go into specifics, was an insightful look into the origin of a story from Vol 1. I loved this look into it's history and it really puts a human face to a tortured soul.

My Chronicles Of The Grim Reaper care package from author Griz Calderon arrived yesterday and I couldn't have been more surprised if it had gold bars in it. Along with the autographed copy of the book, bookmarks, book plates, and photos, she included necklaces of my favorite stories.

I am re-reading the Tiffany Aching series by Terry Pratchett and I don't care what anyone says, the best character name in fiction, ever, is No'-As-Big-As-Medium-Sized-Jock-But-Bigger-than-Wee-Jock-Jock. There are better characters, yes. But NOT better names.
