It’s also more difficult to get 4 yards when everyone is bunched in the end zone compared to having 30 yards of field to use.

That 9th one was a phantom call. Heck by that point the refs had seen so many they were starting to imagine them.

A few of my friends are from Bozeman. I warned them the crowd noise would be an issue with IL St only a 6 hour drive from Nashville.
Never did I imagine it would lead to 9 false starts!

Any thoughts on trading for Marte? He’s got plenty of power and plays a position of need. That being said the noise around him being a diva and disrupting team chemistry concerns me. Isn’t that supposedly one of the primary reasons they shipped Devers to SF?

Same. And with no room for him on the MLB roster he would have lingered in AAA where his value would depreciate if his chase rate didn’t improve significantly.

He’s only signed for one year so hopefully he doesn’t continue to regress further. The 1.23 WHIP isn’t so much a concern, but a 4.28 ERA is trouble if that’s your 2nd or 3rd starter.

The “and BTW” comment I tossed in at the end is what you focused on? Gray is a buy low and hope for a turnaround season acquisition for one year to add depth which they clearly needed late last year. He is most certainly not a number 2 starter at this point in his career.

If they’re counting on Gray as the #2 that’s a major concern. He’s now 36 and coming off a year with a 4.28 ERA and 1.23 WHIP. Not to mention his ERA at Fenway is north of 6.
