John Thaw was born on 3 January 1942.

John was born at his mother’s parents’ home in Longsight, Manchester. He was the first child of John “Jack” Thaw and Dorothy “Dolly” Ablott. The family lived in the inner-city suburb of West Gorton, Manchester.

50th Anniversary of #TheSweeney!

On 2 January 1975, the first episode, "Ringer", of the television series The Sweeney was broadcast at 9pm on ITV.

The successful Armchair Cinema film Regan, which served as a pilot episode for the series, had been shown in June 1974.

The concluding episode of The Glass (2001) on @talkingpicturestv.bsky.social had me gripped - emotions were running high in this one! With so many twists and turns, I couldn't have predicted the ending.
