"White people were, and are, astounded by the holocaust in Germany. They did not know that they could act that way. But I very much doubt whether black people were astounded—at least, in the same way." —James Baldwin, The Fire Next Time

The experience cartoonist Keith Knight relates about himself, his White roommate, and the San Francisco police is enlightening: www.npr.org/2020/09/08/9...
In 'Woke,' Cartoonist Keith Knight Drew From A Real-Life 'Wake-Up Call'
The Hulu comedy follows Keef, a cartoonist (based on Knight) who doesn't want to fill his comic strips with racial justice issues. But a run-in with the police changes Keef's perspective.

I watched several A-10 live fire demonstrations when I was assigned to Ft Bragg. They were awesome.

Bozo was a franchised show in local markets around the US going back to the 1950s. I remember watching him when I was in kindergarten, probably earlier.

Because Trump does not see anything wrong with bribery. His reason for being in office is to enrich himself and his family, and the Republican Party condones it.

I like the Dark Dad humor and especially the panel behind the Red Button.

I remember MG Rogers. He spoke to the UCLA Army ROTC cadets in our dayroom in 1976. He was the deputy chief of staff for ROTC at the time.

Schumer and nine other Senate Democrats voted to advance the bill. The majority of Democrats--37--voted no. Schumer is out of step with his colleagues and should step down. New Democratic leadership is required, and it should in no way include Schumer or the other nine.

I’m disgusted with Schumer. He talked a big game up to yesterday afternoon but when Johnson called his bluff, Schumer folded. Probably because after 6 weeks he still had no new idea of how to argue the cause. He should step down and give the job to someone that can lead.

Pneumatic transmission is the cause suspected by one expert in the current Freakonomics series on rats. The expert raising this idea cited the speed at which the plague spread—too fast for rats, which had to die before the fleas would leave their host.

Warner recently turned 70. Hey, I’m almost 70 and I’m tired of politicians older than me. Get some younger folks in there. I hope they do a better job than these old bastards.
