Musk is a slug, but the EV market is not collapsing. Over 60% of all new cars registered in Europe this year were EV. Tesla is declining but EVs are still selling and consumers are snatching up hybrids like mad. Rivian is doing fine and all the major players have EVs in their lineup.

Political beliefs are separate from technological developments. I remember watching and being excited by the space program in the sixties with the rest of America, even though we knew that Werner Von Braun who led the effort, was an actual Nazi who built the rockets that killed many allies in WW2.

Is that a technical opinion or a political one?
Seems to me that if you are foregoing an environmental and financial benefit for a personal bias, you are cutting off your nose to spite your face. Wouldn't the expensive house be just as desirable if you bought it and turned off the battery?
