Wow, according to various "centrists" (aka "good Germans"), and also for some reason Bernie Sanders, defending trans rights is too risky for Democratic candidates, but having an actual nazi tattoo isn't - ugh, those people are utterly worthless.

I assumed this was a hoax when I first saw it, but no the Marines will shell CA with "live military ordinance" this Friday or Saturday, allegedly as part of the military's 250th, but clearly to intimidate us before Saturday's protests. This is legitimately horrifying: abc7.com/post/5-could...

I recently got a new phone, and am selling my old one. Before I put it up on ebay, I thought I'd see if anyone here wanted it - it's an unlocked T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, with 256 GB storage, and I'm selling it for $380, including priority mail shipping anywhere in the US. It works great.

One of the difficulties of the present moment is understanding that we are currently in a civil war. At the very latest, it started on January 20, and it's easy to argue for earlier. I guarantee fasc like Miller, Vance, and Hegseth all understand this (continued in comments)

We are in a scary, but (for me at least) for the first time in a while, hopeful place with the LA protests. ICE (and likely the cops) will soon (if they haven't already) start simply killing protesters. At that point, either things die down, and we lose, or they don't (continued in comments)

OTOH, while I think there's almost certainly no evidence of 47 in the Epstein files, the Musk 47 fight is glorious and if we're lucky will kill 47's horrific spending bill and maybe get Musk to stop funding Republinazis

I'm strongly assuming that Musk's claim about 47 and the Epstein files is fake, largely because if there were and the Biden administration weren't idiots (which is admittedly possible) that, at best, there some suggestive stuff, but nothing that even rises to the level of more likely than not.

my partner was reading about the proposed work and means testing requirements for medicaid, and had an epiphany -everyone who bothers to look at the data knows means testing and work requirements increase rather than decrease costs and don't stop waste (continued in comments)

The US is crap, but there has been some personal good news - our 16 or 17 year old cat Button has IBS and mild kidney problems, and had gotten skinny, but with new food and a variety of meds, she's now happy,more active, purring more, and up to 8 lb/4 oz (from a low of 7 lb/12 oz!

Today, I saw a tiny bit of protest that was both hilarious and seriously gross. I notices something colorful on the ground and looking closer, I saw a pile of fresh dog turds adorned with several tiny toothpick flags saying "Trump Vance '24".

Given he's clearly following Hitler's playbook, I sadly think it's exceedingly likely that 47 will invade (or at least attempt to invade) Canada. I just ordered a Canadian flag sticker and will put it in my window with "I Stand With Canada" beneath it. I urge everyone in the US to do the same.
