I'll just say, why is it only technologists and economists consulted? How about environmentalists? how about educators? How about artists and writers? How about people with good taste?

The baseline premise of the group mind, hive mind, is pretty commonplace. But that's sort of just what the plane of the story uses to taxi for take off. What's done with that premise is original.

Humor is about incongruity and it's all one giant incongruity.

I laughed a lot. But it also made me recoil in horror. And then it made me laugh again. The absurdities of people speaking all at once in a particular way, the speech the Acting President (sort of) gave to her from the tv...Then the horror of her situation comes clearer...then the guy from Mumbai...

I suggest people listen closely to the dialogue. Forget about other versions, while watching this one.

Nope. Those people will be back at work and paid. Fed firing ends for now. Some concessions gotten. Point was made, & it wasn't "the dems" it was eight people, one of them and independent, a small fraction of Senate. Most Dems thought they should have held out longer. But constituents were howling.

Only 8 democrats caved. That's not the Democratic party.
