Elijah White volunteered to serve in the US Army in 1863. He fought in the US 20th Colored Infantry. He’s buried in Evergreens Cemetery in Brooklyn in the Frederick Douglass GAR plot.

There was a lot of criticism about this decision to kick a FG here. Obviously ND missed it. But aside from citing number crunchers who apparently said it was a toss-up whether to go for it or not, pundits ALWAYS overvalue ties or going for a tie.
