The last political column I was allowed to write in the @washingtonpost.com was a criticism of Obama.

His people took issue with my piece, but we were respectful.

Now he is tweeting in support of me.

This is how free political speech and respect for debate *actually works*.

Or used to work.

I appreciate @democracydocket.com for resharing this. For those who keep dinging the usage of the term “constitutional crisis” in May, please know that I wrote this in February a couple weeks after the inauguration.
“What we’re witnessing is an unprecedented attempt to split the traditional role of the president, creating a shadow government that fundamentally alters our constitutional order. It’s a constitutional crisis in waiting,” @johnron.bsky.social writes.

The False Prophet of Government Efficiency
Elon Musk has been anointed as the architect of federal government reform, a position that would be laughable if it weren't so dangerous.

The difference, of course, being that @rollingstone.com has and values integrity.
A Trump White House spokesperson responded to the reporting by attacking Rolling Stone:

"It is shameful that Rolling Stone is ignoring the GOOD deals President Trump has secured for the American people, not for himself, to push a false narrative.”

Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club was amazing! A bravura performance by a practically flawless cast. And Orville Peck as the emcee? Just. Wow. If you’re familiar with the story, you can imagine how sobering it was to watch at this moment in time. A stunned silence in August Wilson Theatre more than once.

Thank goodness. There is relief with this photo. Proud to claim @vanhollen.senate.gov as one of my senators. Thank you, Senator, for taking action on this.
I said my main goal of this trip was to meet with Kilmar. Tonight I had that chance. I have called his wife, Jennifer, to pass along his message of love. I look forward to providing a full update upon my return.

I’m speaking to the press now after we were denied access to the prison to check on his condition. Tune in:

The opportunism of cisgendered hetero white scholars to speak on issues that they’ve never spoken on or written about until now isn’t at all surprising. A textbook example of not what you know, but who you know.

Of the 10 Dems, this includes Jeanne Shaheen (NH) and Gary Peters (MI), neither of whom are running again. Seriously, what did they have to lose?

Major props to my senator @vanhollen.senate.gov for adding an amendment to eliminate DOGE. It will fail, but I'm grateful for his voice on the issue.

This was on February 2. Seems like the tracks were uncomfortable today.
“We’re not going to go after every single issue,” Sen. Chuck Schumer of NY, the minority leader, said in an interview. “We are picking the most important fights and lying down on the train tracks on those fights.”

Sorry, Mr. Schumer. I’m not seeing that at all.
