Jstore is by subscription ($big) but you can read executive summaries of reports for free on their site. = usually leads to open source references for follow up.

I think Within You Without You was a real door opener to a paradigm shift and incorporation of Indian music in the US. John McLaughlin Mahavishnu Orchestra & Nora Jones from Ravi Shankar. Google AI shows some ethnomusicological studies done on it / rock n roll + this: www.jstor.org/stable/853536
