Alright, I just blew past 140k words for Book 6 of The Lurran Chronicles, and I still have the last couple of chapters left to write, plus a bunch of polishing for the earlier sections, meaning this might end up being the longest installment yet.

You know, I really was intending on keeping Book 6 to about the length of the first in the series, so around 125k. Unfortunately, I'm about to blow right past that, and I still have several more big scenes left to write, so we'll see how long this ends up being.

Book 6 of The Lurran Chronicles has taken longer than expected, but I'm now almost done, though I still have some polishing left. Jimmy Moreland will again be lending his talents to producing the audiobook, so everything should be published by November.

Earlier today, I was taking a shortcut through a quiet neighborhood to get around some traffic in SoCal, just to see this cute stand. Of course, I had to stop for some fresh strawberry lemonade and a lemon cheesecake puck of tasty goodness.

On this day four years ago, I began writing The Lurran Chronicles, back when my MC's name was Eric instead of Eli. Now, after publishing more than 700k words in the series, this seems like a natural time for a little self-reflection on my journey so far.

I've been taking several days off from writing Book 6 to complete the continuing education for my CPA license once again. Honestly, even though I miss some aspects of finance and business, I much prefer creating magical worlds over playing around with debits and credits.

Some quick updates: After writing about Eli's adventures on Lurra for the past several years, I recently hit the road to explore more of this wonderous world of ours. However, I did bring my laptop to continue working on Book 6, so look out for that later this year.

I don't know about other self-published authors on Amazon, but there's always something so satisfying when my manuscript's formatting actually matches KDP's previewer without weird errors. Now, Book 5 really does feel like it's just days away from release.

I'm excited to announce that Harbinger Ascendant, Book 2 of The Lurran Chronicles, is awaiting final approval from Audible, so it should be published in the next ten days. Audiobooks 3 and 4 are scheduled for December, though the holidays can be a tad hectic.

I don't know about anyone else, but I love maps in my stories. Does anyone else have a memorable one they enjoyed? For me, the first that came to mind was from Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series, but there have been a lot more since then.
