I responded and we've been in occasional touch with her, just didn't organize in quite the same way (that I know we should).

Soon after 11/5, we got a note from a neighbor we never met who'd seen our Harris signs and was connecting with fellow locals in mourning, inviting them to coffee at her house that weekend. We had conflicting plans and were too raw to commiserate just yet, but I think often about the lovely gesture.
