It is a dictatorship.

They could have modernised this before the great dictator MBS came to power. But for him it's his big moment on stage with the spotlight on him where he can live out his fantasy that everyone in F1 is there because of him.

Which is what the narcissistic man baby needs to feed his ego.

No methanol used in F1 since the 1950s but they use it in IndyCar

The problem at Ferrari in a nutshell.

Long run by people who won't listen to you even if you are correct because it's "not your role to speak about that".

And so they learn nothing and repeat the same mistakes.

Sure it was different times, you didn't talk publicly about mental weakness back then.

But drivers like DH and JB were labelled "too nice to win".

I'm glad nice guys DH and JB got to prove them wrong, even just for a season.

So Lando, be truly unique and don't just stop at one WDC being nice!
December 10, 2025 at 12:16 AM
It's no wonder Lando's mouth gets him in to trouble with fast mouth small 🍌 pricks like his Dad and Zak as role models. He doesn't stand a chance.

LOL unique in the F1 that DTS fan era fans have seen.

Jenson and Damon weren't baddies either. There's a nationality and culture pattern to it, but go back to the wild 70s and 80s and yeh we had badass drivers too as well as nice guys.

By success I mean not a Honda 2015 style disaster. But Max needs to see good progress or he might leave for whoever got their engine right.

Let's hope the new era is not like 2014 where you had to have a particular engine or you couldn't compete for the title.

I think some of the scepticism may come from most of Ford's F1 success being where they the money and the badge for Cosworth designed and built engines.

I've an open mind, F1 needs Ford and RBPT to be a success from Day 1, and the other PUs too.

Fans don't want single PU/team domination.

McLaren don't comply with their driver's wishes that's bull.

Oscar's guarded answer tells me he wants to say No! if the phone call comes.
December 5, 2025 at 10:25 PM
It'll be hurridly written in to next year's sporting regs over the winter that all drivers must smile and show appreciation in the presence to the FIA President or be punished.

Planet F1 went downhill a long time ago. So many old names of F1 online media are just on the clickbait circus now.

I rarely read F1 news sites nowadays for actualy news because of the clickbait. Better to follow respected motorsport journalists, but where will the next gen of those come from?!
December 4, 2025 at 7:33 PM
Hard for anyone on the outside to know.

Maybe Laurent was busy making Yuki feel better after hearing he was dumped out of the seat, they have a better relationship than Helmut has with anyone but himself.
December 4, 2025 at 7:27 PM
The hyperbole factor has been like a runaway train since Liberty took over.

F1 is celebrating meaningless coincidental stats every race weekend which dilutes the rarer more important things that should be celebrated when they actually tick round.

The buddy system worked well between Bernie and the FIA.

With Mohammed B.S. everything is broken, he has no buddies anywhere.
December 4, 2025 at 7:14 PM
Bernie dictated to the dictators! Come back Bernie, all is forgiven!

Even the FIA is a dictatorship now.
December 4, 2025 at 6:40 PM
Yep, also in America but at least it was before it was a dictatorship!
December 4, 2025 at 6:37 PM
Us European fans were fans before Bernie sold up to Liberty and before DTS so we saw it happen.

Now F1 races for $ in car parks and sands pits under dictatorships, America included.

Ah the ironing board nose era of F1 car.

Only their mother would love 'em.

Aw that's a bit mean but ok

I love horsey rules, I want that to become a thing 🐴

But did you know in 2018,Lewis' 5th title, the team let him pass his teammate Valtteri in Russia for 1st place after being beaten by him all weekend? Wasn't even after a promise of no undercut or a bad pitstop or even under pressure from Vettel.

He should grow his hair long and walk with a staff
October 26, 2025 at 6:59 PM
At the time Martin Brundle was very vocal about showing Friday on TV to tell the story of the weekend, which the BBC didn't agree with. He jumped ship to Sky for their launch when they agreed with his "vision".

So, Sprints are Martin Brundles fault.
