From experiences and discussions, I can surely say that we all gatekeep the hell out of one particular book from our shelves.

With only 267 pages, this epic evokes all the feelings of awe and wonder you would get from a 400+ fantasy novel. Published around the same year as Fellowship of The Ring, it has Vikings, Elves, Dwarves, Trolls, Nordic Gods, Gaelic Gods, Judeo-Christian allegory and a Magical Sword.

Going back to the GYM unfortunately helped me remember how toxic gym culture can be.

I really wish more High Fantasy authors would focus on making great standalone books rather than trilogies or building a hexalogy. A lot of times the magic can get lost halfway through the second book.
