I was Jack Janglebones on t'other site.

Retired guitarist. I used to be first-call at TPA Studios when Steve Kent ran it. Played with some people you've heard of. Sometimes more than once. I collect books.

Denizen of the Oak Grove, Wülferhampton.
Good Morning, your Holiness.

Borrowing and reshaping the Christic's messiah's sermon, may the Oak Grove, in the spirit of ecumenicalism, suggest this reworking for your next homily?

I've been building my library since I was twelve. It has followed me through living in a squat, various flats, houses and a number of different relationships. It is still just shy of five thousand books. Here are some of my Pratchett firsts.

Chaps, those of you who know Good Omens may want to follow these two. Rather expert in averting the coming crisis, and all that, what.

Finally got the HiFi working properly. Currently playing an old Matthew Passion.

Just been to the @kirkdalebooks.bsky.social and came away having spent less than £100.

The Kerr is a signed first for the mother. The mushroom cards are for the Oak Grove Priests. A Good Girls Guide to Murder was the daughter’s choice. She needs watching.

"The point about what I shall hereafter call mondegreens, since no one else has thought up a word for them, is that they are BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL." (My emphasis.)

Though I dislike criticising Jarvis in any way. Looking at his peers; Oasis, Blur, Radiohead et al, he stands taller in hindsight.

My presience only extends to a handfull of days, alas. (And never seems to give me lottery-winning numbers.)

Oh well.

#TicketStubWed

This one's technically not a ticket stub. It's a full ticket that I used as a bookmark in the collected e e cummings and then forgot. I had to buy another ticket to go to the gig.

The prisoner pen and the writing implement are ever so slightly different.

I must consult my collegiate brethren if they chain their quills. Maybe those from the goose's right wings which don't curl into your eyes when scribbling.

Thanks to: @pileusmedia.bsky.social

This sums up my position, though I was only born in 1961.
Macmillanite, Keynesian, mixed economy... centre-right in the '60s, far-left now.

Luckily my Strats, a red '82 AVRI bought from Manny's in 1994 - it has a temporary replacement roasted maple neck, and a black turn-of-the-millennium CS which is my number 1, were bought before America went totally mad.

CS is on the right. Both 6 point "trems", Sperzels, and lots of fettling.

Two bottles of the new Ardbeg limited release "Eureka!" were delivered on Friday, so I took one over to a chum's, and our small whisky-tasting club cracked the bottle. I went home with half of it.

It's rather nice.

Despite the misspelling of heroin, followed by the correct spelling, I stand by most of the things I wrote in this, some 18 years ago.
