The Boy was very nervous about coming into the paleoart session (I think the fact that he’s home-educated and it was quite class-like didn’t help).
But he did it (with the support and kindness of another) and got so much from it.

I recognise it’s easier for me, a middle-aged bloke to turn up at things like this without any bother (eg I regularly go to metal shows alone). I don’t have a good answer, but hope there’s a way for people who would like to attend can do so comfortably

Yes, he absolutely lit up when he got chatting with some folk about spinosaurs! Such a great group of people the whole day we were there. Really inclusive, which I hope would be encouraging to others who would like to attend.

Tricky one. I was my ND son’s +1 (like I needed persuading 🤣) and it was a lot of socialising for him (I am enormously proud of how well he did).
I get teased by my kids for my ability to find someone to chat to in an empty room, but a real challenge for many flying solo.

This is very true! I’ve never really got on with that album - Black Gives Way to Blue was fantastic; Devil/Dinosaurs had a lot to live up to.
