Regarding your hosting platforms question, I have been a customer of hetzner.com since 2016 and am very happy with them. A big caveat is that they are based in Germany (they have data centers in Virginia and Oregon). Sales and tech support speak excellent English. Price to performance ratio rocks!

Regarding the perception gap, Jonathan Haidt's metaphor of the rider on the elephant seems apt. The rider (the conscious mind) is unable to control the elephant (the unconscious mind) by force. And no doubt the elephant is being fed by Fox News, Truth Social, an ever growing segment of Twitter...
