I loved the Stax/Atlantic soul - talented songwriters, great musicians and arrangements and above all fabulous singers. While Aretha and Otis were my favourites, there were many others and the last survivor from that generation, Sam Moore, died this week. Here he is with Dave.

Interesting times indeed:

‘Yesterday, Facebook carried out a brazen political attack on anti-racists. With no evidence of wrongdoing, they banned the Stand Up To Racism Facebook page.

‘The ban occurred after a post urging people to join the to Stop The Far Right, on Saturday 1st of February.’

It's 15 years since inspirational students occupied their campuses against the government's ludicrous fees for higher education. We visited the students in Brighton and I wrote this song immediately afterwards, and played it to the Cambridge Senate House occupiers.
