Couple things I think.

1. A lot of us are highly reserved by nature.

2. If your emotional reactions are atypical, there's strong incentive to hide them.

3. Widespread cultural attitude that rationality, objectivity, etc. are cold, machinelike traits, and those who have them are less human.

Of course they were; it's just a common way autistic people engage with fantasy and science fiction. We never needed trading cards for that.

It not only gives me better results, I now feel less frustrated and disempowered by failure- when I fail to block I can quickly see WHY I failed and how to improve, instead of thinking "What does the game even want me to do?" Night and day difference for me, I'm having so much more fun now!

Also a lot of online leftists decided that unhip autistic nerds were a reactionary class to be crushed and that colors their attitudes towards technology because of who tends to work in that field.
