Better but longer. They wanted a short ad for TikTok and Instagram.

Best may have been to cut two versions, the one released and another with “why now?” examples mixed into it.

"Midnight oil" is older than fossil fuels. Various oils and fats have been burned in lamps for lighting at night.

An early example is the Hanukkah story.

Actually 67. It takes a full two-thirds of 100.

You're right on the main point, though. It's a HIGHER threshold than the 60 votes needed to beat a filibuster. It's also fixed *in the Constitution*, unlike the filibuster which the Senate can change or remove at any time.

Response to FBI: no thank you, I stand by my statement.

Response to the public: a follow-up video, same setup, this one describing the Trump admin threats and ending with “we stand by our statement”.

This possibility is why the Founders put the Speech or Debate clause into the Constitution. (They didn't think of *everything* but got a lot of stuff right.)

Which will catch another legal challenge from Comey if they try it. IDK who wins: there’s little-to-no case law that fits this exact situation.

Modelo? MODELO??

I volunteer to open a detention center for illegal alien beer. (Don't be surprised if some of the beer becomes untraceable.)

He has to get one confirmed by the Senate, can’t do another interim/acting.

Can refile James charges. Comey maybe not: his case is now beyond statute of limitations time limit.
November 24, 2025 at 6:25 PM
Better than Halligan.

It’s mandated by statute. The President can make one Acting appointment for 120 days max, then the judges pick until somebody is Senate-confirmed.

Trump can *ask* them to select Halligan but can’t force it.

Common negotiation technique, Trump didn’t invent it.

It’s being used here, but not by Trump against Ukraine or Europe. Russia has successfully “anchored” Trump.
November 23, 2025 at 10:35 PM
Won't happen soon. The "money men" behind Trump are the big tech guys who will stay with him as long as his hands are on the financial regulation levers. They will also support Vance if Trump exits early, at least at first.

One shilling.

The last time a bat and ball were that cheap was before decimal pence.
November 21, 2025 at 8:32 PM
Can the indictments obtained by Not A Prosecutor be declared Not An Indictment in a way that lets EDVA refile the James case but doesn’t trigger the six-month extension on Comey?
November 20, 2025 at 12:06 AM
So they’re trying to make the GJ Coordinator the fall guy?
November 19, 2025 at 11:52 PM
Cuts both ways. If Comey was a nobody he wouldn’t be a DOJ target, but he also wouldn’t have galactic-scale defense resources.

My 23andMe report says “Signs point to yes”.
November 19, 2025 at 9:07 PM
The foreperson is a non-lawyer, guided by a prosecutor, signing a document that violates court rules but doesn’t contain unambiguous lies. Hard to see a prosecution.

Halligan’s law license, OTOH, could be at risk.

Did the Speaker explain? What disclosures, and what damage?

If that’s how the system works, maybe it SHOULD be damaged.
November 19, 2025 at 8:30 PM
Planning to use that image for the next Scottish independence campaign?
November 19, 2025 at 8:07 PM
That issue is still in play for L James, with Pulte’s selective snooping through mortgage files as an added element in that case.
November 19, 2025 at 7:38 PM
Not “insane” - the GJ *had* approved the charges included on the final form - but not according to court procedure.

Federal no-bills aren’t common, a mixed vote even rarer. No reason for any GJ foreperson, newbie or not, to know how one is handled.

That’s because Trump has no strategic sense. Which, in turn, is because Trump has no consistent set of goals to pursue.

Look at what he’s chasing: maybe-war with Venezuela, the Kennedy Center, tariffs, his ballroom, mass deportations, the Harvard feud. Completely incoherent.
November 16, 2025 at 10:21 PM
An actual right wing populist could never get campaign funding. Rich Republicans contributed to Trump because they believed he wouldn't do anything to hurt them.

And they were right! His *first* Cabinet was loaded with one-percenters, and this time it's Billionaire Heaven.

A descendant of Lord Farquaad?
November 16, 2025 at 7:09 PM
Disagree. I'm old enough to remember the Original Six wearing colors at home, especially the bright red in Detroit, the blue Maple Leafs sweater, and Montreal's classic red with the blue-and-white band.
