In Victoria and found a bar to watch the Penn State game. Didn’t know that I was going to be a fan at a tennis match with the Capitals playing Montreal on another tv.

Last week it was the history of boats and ships from the spice trade route times like the Earl of Abergavenny to Norway’s EV ship the Yara Birkeland.

Gave a talk yesterday and mentioned AI and things like ChatGPT. I’m obsessed with going down rabbit holes of various subjects to learn more about history. This one led me to Vermeer and The Girl in the Pearl Earring painting and his possible use of camera obscura.

Superintendents panel discussion on soils and super said he’s using Jason Haines and @micahwoods.bsky.social OM246 process and following MLSN. Not many hands went up in a room of 200 when asked if using this but I’m guessing Micah might get busier after this panel discussion.

Another day in the airport. SCE-PHL-DFW-SEA-YYJ. Figures the upgrade I got was on shortest flight. Wish me luck. If it works out I’ll land in Victoria around 11PM west coast time.
