I know everyone is eagerly awaiting JJS’s new book, _The Prime Minister of Paradise: The True Story of a Lost American History_. Currently the publication date on Amazon is showing as September 7, 2027. Fingers crossed!

JJS’s essay, entitled “Corona”, was chosen for inclusion in _The Best American Essays 2025_. The book will be published on October 21st. You can buy a copy here:

FROM THE ARCHIVE: JJS first appeared on the masthead of a magazine in 1997. He was an intern and listed as “John Sullivan” in the very first annual Southern music issue of the _Oxford American_.

On June 12, JJS was in NYC to give a reading at Harper’s Magazine 175th Anniversary Party. I haven’t been able to find a recording or video of the event.
