No debt, no 8%, no interest payments.

The problem if you did that, under normal circumstances, would be the currency market...

Feels like when the government said "Hey you 700,000 people split into however many units you want but each unit should be about 500k or more", well, the algebra isn't hard.

Feel free to try and make your own. It's actually quite hard to get to the high population numbers and make the remnants look sane.

May I get back on my "single continuous service scheme for the civil service, NHS, and local government" hobby horse? Losing redundancy protection, among other complexities, is a huge psychological barrier.
