63 years ago today - 17 Nov 1962, the Steelers unveiled their new insignia, the Steelmark logo belonging to the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI). The Steelmark was originally created for U.S. Steel in 1960 and turned over to the AISI for use widely in the steel industry.

The church & school properties were sold in 1917 and new buildings erected on Fernando Street, where they stood until demolished during Hill District redevelopment in 1959.

St. Peter’s Church was first Italian Roman Catholic church erected in Western PA. The congregation was organized in 1888 and St. Peter’s opened in 1892 at corner of Webster Ave & Tunnel St in the Hill. A new St. Peter’s Church was dedicated in 1911 at 1019 Forbes St, between Hooper & Magee Streets.
