2/ E.g., let's say you have a channel called #you-must-read-every-message-here-or-lose-your-job -- there seems to be no way to trigger a notification for every single message within Slack itself.

1/ Tell me I'm wrong:

if you go into a specific Slack channel and change notifications to "all new messages" it does not actually notify on all new messages.

(By "notification" I mean the white dot on the Activity icon in the left nav.)
