I love Heat. Absolutely amazing film. Michael Mann’s masterpiece. Can’t say enough good things about it. Absolute peak cinema. I also love how it’s set in LA but ignores the entertainment industry, as if Hollywood doesn’t exist: the original real life setting was Chicago.

This is nasty. Spotify is obviously not a friend of independent music.

I have a sense that Burnham wasted his opportunity by waiting too long, but maybe his time has come.

But rejoining on what terms? Rejoining under the new rules would not be popular. I’m sure the EU would negotiate, but we’re not getting the sweet deal we had before we left.

Is anyone not a Blairite? Word is Streeting is Mandelson’s man, which is bad, but then what are the alternatives?

I’m not a practitioner, but from what I’ve seen the martial art Silat is pretty good for self defence for the average person without being about extended katas or floor grappling.

To be fair, so much has happened since then and none of Cameron’s successors have gained an -ite or -ism like Thatcher or Blair.

Interesting that Boris claimed it was impossible to give children grades because they couldn’t sit exams. France and Germany both managed to do school exams.

I’m scared that computer generated voice overs are going to start influencing people to speak like that to other people.

I’m not personally in the market for that kind of thing. My wife has always had a Samsung smartphone since the S2. Apple would have to fall a long way for me to even consider a Samsung. I’m on a 12 mini and I’m considering getting a 16 when the 17 comes out.

Samsung’s DeX thing never really took off, though.
