Sure, I get that. But isn't that similar for Canada? They seem happy being part of the country.
I guess I don't see it as colonialism if they wanted to join the US or UK or Canada, or separate from the Danes for that matter. But all I see is the "leave them alone they're not interested" meme

Imagine paying for 20,000 Costco memberships every year, but only giving them out to 200 people.
I wish more of these bureaucratic folks were spending money like it was their own. Even if you don't like DOGE or Musk, I'd guess you appreciate cleaning up the books with things like this, right?
