Yeah this is kind of where it’s at

Trumpism used this manufactured nostalgia for how things used to be, and the Dems fought it with promoting the present or the immediately pre-Trump past

But that gave up on the idea that lots of things still need to be better

And we need *progressive* energy

I feel like this centralizing question needs to be accented by Matthew 7:15-23 regarding false prophecy.

Shirt 33: A watercolor landscape I painted using techniques I saw on Hannah Pickerill’s socials.

Shirt 32: Made a shirt using artwork my wife and I made at Painting With a Twist. Printed the pattern pieces directly onto the fabric to ensure pattern matching.

The first piece of clothing I made for myself when I was learning to sew last year.

I think if you assume every Stein voter votes Clinton in the absence of Stein in 2016, you have an argument, because these three states’ 46 electoral votes would make the difference

(But I don’t accept that assumption, I think a lot of these Stein voters stay home absent Stein)

During all of the *waves hands around vaguely*, I’ve been trying to find my joy by doing sewing-related things while I have no time for sewing.

Recently, this has taken the shape of designing my own fabrics for future shirts.

I never thought I would post the same screenshot from the Yale Review more than once, yet here we are on double digits

Got another watercolor done today. Trying to figure out the best way to photograph/scan these to get the best detail for printing onto fabric

My latest artistic pursuit to cope with everything crumbling into chaos around me is watercolor painting

Well nice to know my professional organization is deciding to comply in advance

This isn’t a shirt, but it’s worth posting - I made a lining-free, collar-free, lapel-free blazer to wear to medium-fancy events with my shirts.

Shirt 31 is Wizard of Oz-themed - emerald green fabric, yellow “brick” collar with a little bit of glitter, and fake emerald buttons.

This is missing the Flint-style coney, the best of all coneys

Shirt 30 (wow, 30) is chainmail with d20 buttons. I also experimented with a standing collar on this one

What everyone thinks their mind horse will look like vs what the mind horse actually looks like

(This probably tracks very well to the “winning a point against Serena Williams” discourse)

Shirt 29 is LEGO!

Shirt 28 is a soccer-themed shirt for my son’s upcoming season.

Used some of the spare fabric from the bookshelf shirt to make a new tiny wallet!

3/20/2025: Today’s shirt update is… shirt.

3/19/2025: For a brief moment, I thought I was going to finish this shirt tonight.

Instead, I need to figure out the bottom hem.

But hey this is… almost a shirt!

3/18/2025: Today was a slower day - measuring, cutting, and pinning shelves into place more than sewing - so I’m showing off some decorations today.

One photo shows some store-bought patches I’m planning to use in empty spaces, and the other is a pair of appliqués I made for the same purpose.

3/17/2025: I thought I’d be coming back today with the rest of the quilting blocks.

Instead I’m coming back with half the shirt parts.

I’ve basted the quilted book blocks to the left front panel, sleeves, and back panel. On the front panel, I’ve also attached the shelf fabric over the raw edges.

3/16/2025: I had a super productive day yesterday, finishing half the remaining quilting blocks.

If I can repeat this task today, I’ll be able to get everything in the wash tonight to press Monday and start attaching blocks to shirt parts.
March 16, 2025 at 3:34 AM
3/15/2025: I have Completed A Step in the process! All 104 book titles have now been stitched into colored fabric rectangles!

I even got the threads all trimmed!

The next step is going to be piecing the books together into the blocks of books that will share a shelf.

Three are done, eight to go.
