One thing that often gets overlooked, with all the money-grubbing venality and ethical issues, is how unspeakably bad a writer she is. TSP is absolute drivel.

Robert Frost famously said, 'No surprise for the writer, no surprise for the reader'. Each poet needs to be open to the possibility of their poem taking them somewhere they had not expected or intended. That's the excitement of poetry, but also quite different from willful obscurity.
